The University of Texas Police at Houston proudly announces that Executive Director and Deputy Chief Security Officer Ray Gerwitz has been appointed to the position of vice-chairman of the Houston Chapter Board of the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).

His appointment is effective Jan. 1, 2020. Board members serve two-year terms.

IAHSS is a professional association with more than 2,000 members who are health care security, law enforcement, safety and emergency management leaders. The organization has certified thousands of dedicated professionals who keep health care facilities, patients, staff and visitors safe.

Gerwitz himself is an IAHSS Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator. Gerwitz will serve alongside fellow board members: Chairman James Kennedy of Harris Health, Secretary Candace Kleck of Allied Universal and Treasurer Amber Jacques of Texas Children’s Hospital.
