Vicki King, Assistant Chief of Police, Converged Threat/Risk Protection & Investigations

UT Police at Houston is proud to nominate Assistant Chief Vicki King for the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals Distinguished Achievement Award. This award recognizes individuals who have contributed a substantial body of work that has positively impacted the field of threat assessment or violence prevention. King’s career with the Houston Police Department and UT Police at Houston has made her an excellent choice for this nomination.

King’s career has spanned over 30 years. Her leadership serving as Assistant Chief has made an everlasting impact on our department and the ability of our institution to impact and prevent violent crimes and other significant threats. King is a pioneer of the Threat Safety Science for the health care safety and security industry. Her approach is focused on prevention, preparedness, protection, and performance improvement. As a leader of the Threat Management Team, she and her colleagues are working on solutions that can de-escalate high threat situations that will prevent harm to caregivers, patients and law enforcement staff.

Recipients of the Distinguished Achievement Award will be selected by members of the Awards Committee consisting of the ATAP President, a former award recipient, and ad hoc ATAP member. The Award recipient will be announced at the Annual Threat Management Conference in August.
