Bikers, Walkers, Drivers Can Learn to Share the Road

September 30, 2020

The University of Texas Police at Houston (UT Police) is calling all cyclists, pedestrians and drivers to join one of two Bike and Pedestrian Safety classes being held virtually on Oct. 7 at 11:30 a.m. and on Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.

The 30-minute classes will guide participants through the most common rules of the road in an effort to afford all parties the safest experience possible.

Both days will be taught by avid cyclist and UT Police Sr. Threat and Risk Analyst Robert Haynes.

“There are a lot more bikes on the road these days with the addition of more commuters and more recreational bikers,” said Haynes, who has been spotlighted as an outstanding volunteer by the Bike Houston organization. “This presentation is a great refresher for experienced cyclists and it’s highly recommended for new cyclists.”
