Senior Public Safety Officer James Joffrion, Sr. and Public Safety Officer Mary Gonzalez for being recognized once again during the 10th anniversary celebration of the Heart of MD Anderson Outstanding Employee Award.

The Heart of MD Anderson Award singles out employees who consistently embody MD Anderson’s core values of Caring, Integrity and Discovery.

Joffrion received the award in 2012 and Gonzalez was a recipient in 2019. One honoree is selected each month.

Honorees who received the award between 2010 and 2019 were treated to a luncheon last month to commemorate the award’s 10th year. During the celebration it was announced that the prize for the award would be increased from $1,000 to $2,500 going forward.

In a surprise move by the donor, all honorees from the past 10 years received a $1,500 check to add to their previous $1,000 gift.
