Lipe Named ASIS Houston Outstanding Security Officer

September 30, 2020

In celebration of National Security Officer Appreciation Week, the ASIS Houston Chapter selected University of Texas Police at Houston (UT Police) Public Safety Supervisor Jason Lipe as its 2020 ASIS Houston Outstanding Security Officer.

Lipe accepted the award on Sept. 14 at UT Police headquarters in recognition of his contribution to the department's success and his essential role in the institution's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I can't take all of the credit," said Lipe upon receiving the award. "The work of our public safety officers, senior public safety officers and public safety supervisors...have allowed us the ability to provide a high level of customer service and safety for patients, their families and the staff at MD Anderson and UTHealth."

The award was presented to Lipe by ASIS Houston Chapter Chairwoman Melissa Mack and Awards Committee Chairman Jerry Drumwright.

"It is important for us to have security officers that represent excellence in the industry," said Mack. "[Lipe] embodies that for Houston."
