Sgt. Isaac Graham Named Staff Educator of the Quarter at MD Anderson

Sergeant Isaac Graham was named the MD Anderson Staff Educator of the Quarter for the second quarter of the 2023-2024 award year.

The announcement was made by Dr. Diane Bodurka, Chief Education & Training Officer for MD Anderson, and the Staff Educator Awards Committee.

Graham was selected for his contributions to the educational mission of the institution. As UT Police’s supervisor over the training program, Graham plays a significant role in ensuring commissioned officers, public safety officers, telecommunicators and civilian employees have the training required for their work duties and that furthers their professional development.

His own qualifications include being an Advanced Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Instructor, Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement instructor and program manager, and Crisis Prevention Institute Instructor.

The recognition took place during the June Educators' Forum meeting, where Graham was applauded by his colleagues for his outstanding achievement. In attendance were Graham's wife, his colleagues Captain Michael Redmond, Captain Doran Preacher, and Lieutenant Eduardo Rodriguez were present at the event and expressed pride in Graham's accomplishment.

As Staff Educator of the Quarter, Graham is in the running for the 2024 Staff Educator of the Year Award.

Graham is in good company with two of his UT Police colleagues also receiving educational awards from MD Anderson. Officer Manuel Leston received both Staff Educator of the Quarter and Educator’s Forum Educator of the Year for the 2019-2020 award year. Lieutenant Scott Barnwell also received Distinguished Educator in 2019, and Educator of the Year in 2015.
