Security Activity Management Tool is Driving Team’s Capabilities
August 13, 2026
A new incident management platform used by public safety officers and telecommunicators is reshaping UT Police’s service to the community we serve. Team members are capturing greater details on security calls and incidents, being dispatched to alarm calls through a mobile app saving time and radio traffic and writing activity reports for certain incident types.
Since going live in September 2025, the new platform has become a key component of UT Police’s continued digital transformation efforts and has been creating a more efficient, standardized, and data-driven approach to security activity management.
“This new incident management platform helps us record, track, investigate, and resolve operational, safety, and security events,” said Aleisha Drexler, Uniformed Security Operations Manager. “It provides a centralized system where teams can document activity, assign actions, monitor progress, and generate reports, helping ensure security calls for service and vulnerabilities are managed consistently from start to finish.”
The platform, Resolver, can be accessed through mobile phones carried by senior public safety officers and public safety supervisors, giving them a direct link to the telecommunicators in our Risk Operations Center.
Modernization impacting safety management
For now, it has introduced several enhancements designed to improve both efficiency and user experience. Updates include a more user-friendly interface, simplified security activity reporting, improved search and navigation, and enhanced reporting tools with customizable dashboards.
Prior to Resolver, the Uniformed Security Operations team used a combination of various tools and reporting channels, including the police Computer Aided Dispatch Records Management System to manage calls for service, Teams channels, and digital activity logs.
“The switch to this solution improved efficiency by streamlining incident reporting and reducing manual processes,” Drexler said. “Improved workflows and reporting tools help ensure information is shared promptly, allowing teams to respond more effectively and remain coordinated.”
Benefits beyond daily operations
Enhanced reporting and analytics capabilities provide valuable insight into trends, recurring issues, and potential risks. This information helps leadership make informed decisions, allocate resources more effectively, and identify proactive strategies to improve safety and security operations.
One process that has improved relates to the capture of pre-defined information after a PSO responds to a call. For instance, after conducting a security audit of a door, the PSO can use the system to report any vulnerabilities and relay the number of unbadged individuals who might have been redirected from that doorway. The information captured can be easily reviewed for ongoing data trends analysis.
Overall, the enhancements support a more responsive and coordinated approach to service our community. Personnel have quicker access to accurate information, greater visibility into incident status, and improved tools that support decision-making in the field.
Impact across teams
“These improvements provide better communication, stronger accountability, and data-driven insights that support continuous improvements in public safety operations,” Drexler said. “Ultimately, they help us deliver a higher level of service while strengthening safety across the communities we serve.”
As UT Police continues its digital transformation journey, modern incident management tools play an important role in UT Police’s commitment to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and proactive risk management. By standardizing incident management processes and providing meaningful operational insights, the platform allows the division to create a safer, more responsive environment for workforce members, students, patients, visitors, and the broader community.
Additional features coming online
Recently, UT Police has implemented the Lost and Found module within the Resolver application. This latest capability is an important step to centralizing the lost and found process into one platform and is a preliminary step in the transition to a new police records system.
