May 07, 2020

During the first quarter of 2020, two University of Texas Police at Houston staff members had articles published in highly respected security-industry journals.

Threat and Risk Analyst Andrew Dasher had an article published in Police Chief, a publication of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He authored,Three Novel Ways to Use ALPR.”

In the article, Dasher delves into the ways outside of traffic enforcement that automated license plate readers (ALPR) can be utilized.

The Journal of Healthcare Protection and Management published “Using Business Tools to Enhance Your Team's Success” by Ray Gerwitz, Executive Director and Deputy Chief Security Officer.

Gerwitz writes about using how the use of strategic mapping, storyboarding, and data visualization can help to “optimize performance, control costs, enhance team members’ enthusiasm, and increase upper management’s trust in the department.”
